#1. Melbourne Cricket Stadium, Australia

The first match on this venue was played in 1877 and many changes we have seen on this ground. Today, MCG is the biggest ground in the world in terms of boundaries. MCG is also popular because of hosts a boxing day test for any team touring Australia.

The boundary of 93 meters is not common in modern-day cricket. Yes, the straight boundary is of 93 meters and the square boundary is 72.82 meters. But this boundary got short in T20 matches. The first match was established in 1952 and Sri Lanka also played their first test match against New Zealand at this venue. We all know that Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket stadium in the world in terms of capacity, which allows a total of 1,32,000 spectators in the stadium. The first expansion work on this ground was finished in 2020. The first test match was played in 1983 on this ground. 

#2 Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia

Before Narendra Modi Stadium, Melbourne Cricket Ground was the largest ground with a capacity of 1,00,000 spectators. The first match on this stadium took place in 1877 and the stadium also served as the main stadium for the 1956 Summer Olympics. Although, cricket hasn’t been a part of the Olympics since the first modern-day games. 

#3 Eden Gardens Kolkata, India

Eden Gardens is the only stadium, which appears in both lists with having a total capacity of 80,000 spectators. The ground is not only big in terms of boundaries but also has a wide space for spectators to sit on. 

#4 Naya Raipur International Cricket Stadium, India

This stadium has a capacity of 65,000 spectators and comes in fourth spot on this list. Even after having such a huge capacity, the venue is still waiting to host their first international match. We may expect a match shortly on this high-capacity ground.

Chidambaram is a popular stadium in India with a capacity of 50,000 spectators. This ground is popular because of is the home ground of Chennai Super Kings. The first ever Ranji on this venue was played in 1936. 

#10 JSCA Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

JSCA Cricket Stadium is new for all, which was established in 2011 and provides a total capacity of 50,000 spectators. Kolkata Knight Riders have played some matches at this stadium.
